Superman: Never Far From Mind

OK, so I've been busy. But Superman is never far from my mind. For one thing, I've been buying ornaments on ebay for a Superman themed tree for the holiday season.

The always great bluetights.net website reports that Bryan Singer was reported to have dined with Orlando Bloom, leading to speculation that the pretty boy actor might play a villain (Metallo?) in a sequel. Both Brandon Routh and Eva Marie Saint have been quoted talking about upcoming filming. Singer is involved in another film, but reportedly that won't delay the pre-production work on a sequel.

I'm giving serious thought to going to the Superman Celebration in Metropolis, Illinois. I'd love to meet Noel Neill. But its a long haul from where I live, so maybe not.

Still Loving Superman

But no time to blog. Christmas for Superman lovers: got that giant Superman Wal-mart had on the day after Thanksgiving, although mine came from eBay; got the Superman Playstation 2 game from Best Buy on the day after Thanksgiving for $20; got the DVD of seasons 5 and 6 of the Adventures of Superman. And a Star Wars item -- the Mr. Potato Head set with the big case that looks like Darth Tater holding Darth Tater, Spud Trooper and R2Potato2. Obviously, bought the DVD and have watched it several times, plus working through the special features. But where's the commentary? And awaiting news on the next movie, supposedly called Man of Steel, due to be released in 2009.

Hollywoodland

Went to see it (finally) yesterday. It is quite good. Ben Affleck and Diane Lane are really good. Adrian Brody is not as bad as I had read. It is exactly what EW said -- a B+ movie. Worth seeing and getting on DVD.

DVD Details

Here. I can't wait!
